INFRAFRONTIER-EMMA, MONTEROTONDO MOUSE CLINIC

L’istituto ospita la sede italiana dell’infrastruttura europea Infrafrontier-EMMA.
Il CNR ha creato e sviluppato, presso il Campus Internazionale A. Buzzati-Traverso di Monterotondo, le infrastrutture internazionali in rete per le scienze della vita European Mouse Mutant Archive (EMMA) e Monterotondo Mouse Clinic (MMC), per la produzione, analisi fenotipica primaria, crioconservazione e distribuzione su larga scala di ceppi mutanti murini standardizzati, modelli innovativi di malattie umane e delle relative risorse bio-informatiche.

EMMA e MMC sono componenti essenziali del progetto Infrafrontier, selezionato dalla Roadmap Europea European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI), dalla Roadmap Italiana delle Infrastrutture di Ricerca di Interesse Pan-Europeo e dalle altre Roadmaps nazionali.

L’infrastruttura Infrafrontier si è integrata a livello operativo con International Mouse Phenotyping Consortium (IMPC) Il progetto Mouse Clinic è collegato alla missione di fenotipizzazione sistematica di INFRAFRONTIER e s'inserisce nell'iniziativa globale dell'International Mouse Phenotyping Consortium (IMPC) alla quale l'Italia ha aderito nel 2013.

INFRAFRONTIER-EMMA è una delle infrastrutture di ricerca con sostegno selettivo da parte del CNR, come illustrato in dettaglio nel Piano Triennale di Attività 2016-2018.
